If you are a new parent, it is very important that you understand the importance of the right food for your baby. This can be the determinant to a healthy or, otherwise baby.

You should get a fair idea of the right baby foods in this article.

Facing the weekday frenzy and looking ahead to another week filled with dance, gymnastics, hockey, swimming lessons, music, skating and no time for healthy meals? Tempted to hit the drive thru and tell yourself next week you will be on top of dinner or this weekend you’ll fill every meal with vegetables to balance it out? It is not easy to get a healthy hot meal to the table, never mind the back seat of the car, when you are literally eating on the run!

Throughout the course of the day it is important to get something from all the food groups that include fruit, vegetables, grains, dairy and meat and alternatives. If it’s a day that is booked with after school activities, try to add extra fruits for breakfast and nutrients at lunch to take the pressure off during the dinner rush. Have a stash of pre washed and cut up peppers, celery, carrots, green beans and even corn to add to any on the run meal. Then try some of these quick dinner options that include protein, dairy and vegetables that are quick to prepare and easy to eat on the go….More at Fast Foods That Are Healthy?

What is always reliable is making your own baby food. But how easy or, how difficult it is depends upon how busy you are.

Making your own baby food can seem like a lot of work, but trust me, it's easier than you think! Cooking the food may seem time consuming, but it's super easy and you can go about your in-home business while it's cooking.

There are so many benefits to making your own baby food! I started doing it to save money, but never realized all the other great things I was doing until I really got into it.

Here's a list of benefits, to name a few:

Parenting especially for new parents is often a terrifying experience. But it can be real fun if you understand the needs of your kid and behave accordingly. The basic of parenting is extremely simple and all that is required is a little bit of dedicated time and attention towards it.

Parenting is actually a bit scary at first, because it is overwhelming to be responsible for the life of another person. Luckily, there are parents who have figured out some of the secrets after having spent many years learning the tricks. The more you read about parenting, the more prepared you will be to handle these important life decisions.

As a parent it’s your job to encourage character growth. Children are often inexperienced and need someone to guide them through new tasks and experiences. All you need to do is set the ball rolling and people along their way will help guide them through the rest. It’s a small investment to advise your kid, but a more profitable one to physically set them on the path.

Allow your child an appropriate level of independence. For example, when your child is ready to walk to school by himself, consider whether or not it is reasonable and NOT whether or not you feel comfortable with it. You’ll never be totally at ease with letting your child do things on his own, so just relax and let him have some leeway.

While the advice of close friends and family can be very helpful, you don’t need to listen to the unsolicited tips from every aunt, cousin and coworker. Of course they may mean well, but at the end of the day the child is yours. The same goes for parenting tips from any other source, take them with a grain of salt….

I had a daily routine that I would normally follow every night before I put my baby to sleep. Yesterday night, I noticed that my daughter knew what all the activities I am going to do before taking her to the bed in the exact same sequence.

Let us look at my daily routine.

The first thing I do after dinner is that I tell my daughter to say good night to everybody before I take her to the bedroom. And then take off her clothes, give her a massage and do a light sponging to clean her.

Make her wear a night dress.

Give her a hug and ask her to pray to god.

And finally I sing a lullaby to put her to sleep.

Your routine might be different from what I follow. But whatever the routine there are some things that you should keep in mind when you put your baby through a routine.

Be consistent about bed times and waking times.

Do the same activities every night, and make the time before bed quiet and peaceful.

Do not lie in bed along with your toddler until he or, she falls asleep as this might encourage your child to stay awake, and your child may ask for water and more bedtime stories.

Keep your tone soft and quiet, and try not to excite your child in the process. Turning this into a nighttime story with your child as the main character is a fun option as well.

It is important that you make the transition from the busy and active day to a peaceful and quiet night, extremely easy. You can do this by doing some quiet activities in the evening after dinner. Coloring a picture, sitting down and watching a favorite, but quiet, video, reading books, singing, quiet play at bath time, or singing lullabies together helps your toddler disconnect and start winding down.

The best lesson you can teach him is how to soothe him to sleep. Follow a nightly bedtime ritual (bath, books, and bed, for example) so he knows what’s expected out of him and what to expect at night. You can tell him that if he stays in bed you’ll come back in five minutes to check on him. Let him know that he’s safe and that you’ll be nearby.

Make the nighttime routine more “business like” when you kiss your baby and tuck him/her in. Don’t wait around for your baby to fuss. Just leave and close the door and wait about ten minutes before you go back in the room.

Daily massage can be the hub of your baby’s nighttime routine and the element that helps them prepare to fall into a deep, restful, restorative sleep.

A couple of days back, I was changing the batteries in my TV remote. My daughter was standing next to me looking at everything that I was doing. The next day my daughter took control of the TV remote. As I watched she performed the exact steps I took the previous day to change the battery and to my surprise in the exact same order.

This is just one of the many examples. If you look at the past couple of days, you will find that your child has learnt a lot of things just by observing your activities.

Kids have a knack of learning by watching. They memorize everything that they watch in the exact same sequence. They might not know the reason for doing something, but they do it just because you did it.

It is hence easier for our kids to learn all the wrong things. We unknowingly keep doing a lot of things that we would not want our kids to learn, like switching electrical appliances, lighting the stove, burning match sticks etc. Learning such things could prove to be fatal and dangerous.

Teach your kids, the right things, the first time itself.

The following are a few things that you should bear in mind when dealing with kids -

When your child is watching, do not do anything that is not right.

Avoid doing things that are dangerous like the ones mentioned above.

There is always a safer and better way of doing something. Follow this better way when you are doing something in front of your kid.

If you want to teach your child something, don’t thrust it upon him. Just do it the natural way, so that your kid is watching and he will learn it.

If you see that your kid has learnt something wrong, don’t force him to unlearn it. Instead do it the right way the next time and do it in front of him. He will learn it right.

No parent will want their child to learn anything that is not right. So teach him everything, the right way the first time.

A couple of weeks back, as I was working on my blog, my little baby who was playing along side me on the bed suddenly looked at me and said,”Pa…Pa…Pa…Pa”.

Those the first words from my 8 month old daughter. I was blank. I couldn’t do anything but look at her in admiration. I wanted to relive the moment. So I called my wife and prompted my baby to say that again. After much persuasion, she went again, “Pa…Pa…Pa….Pa”.

These moments are always one of gladness and surprise for any parent. At the same time, it is important that as a parent you do the right things at this point so that you help the development of your child. But more often than not, this is not the case.

Most parents forget everything in this moment of happiness. The result normally is a situation where your baby suddenly stops talking and you realize that she is taking an abnormally long time to talk again.

If a parent is slightly cautious and does the right things, you can avoid this situation.

One of the first and most important thing for you as a parent to do is ensure that you keep prompting your baby to talk. You can start with small things like pa, ma etc. which are single syllables. Keep talking to your baby instead of gesturing whenever you get a chance, like a verbal BYE instead of a gesture, a verbal HI etc. Though your baby will not be able to reciprocate right away she will understand the sounds so that she prepares for the test later.

Another thing that most parents do, is try to correct your baby. Your baby might not be the best in pronunciation. She is just starting out on something that you have been doing for years now. Let her continue with the way she is speaking. Don’t attempt to correct her. Doing this will prevent her from talking the way she has been doing. She will start to feel that she id doing something wrong and will stop doing it.

Support your child in her speech. She will gradually pickup and will start to say even more difficult terms. All that is required is a little support from you.

Having a baby is the most wonderful experience a woman can have but at the same time it is very important to bring up your child in a safe environment. Today I am going to share my experience with you as I am also a new mom like you and i have an eight month old daughter .Like all children my daughter is also naughty and I would like to bring her up in a safe environment and at the same time I want her to explore things .

It used to be very difficult for me to do any household work leaving my child on bed as I feared that she would probably fall down as she has started to stand up with the support. So I placed her bed on the floor so that she can play safe and can explore also. I have removed all dangerous items completely like table with sharp edges, TV stands and shelves. Climbing on shelves and dressers can cause these items to fall and hurt them.

Make your home baby proof, the right way to get rid of the entire small, round, hard things that lie around every house. Things like buttons, coins, bottle caps, matches, lighters, and any other things a baby may place in his or her mouth need to be removed and placed in a safe and unreachable place.

Keeping toxic and cleaning materials out of reach of your baby is very important. Babies can’t differentiate between good things or bad things and they have a tendency to place everything in their mouths. Sing materials out of reach of your baby.

Bathrooms are a dangerous place for small children. So always ensure that you close the door and do not leave your children alone in the washroom.

Kids have a very sharp brain hence do not install any safety devices in front of your children as they learn very quickly and they can open cupboards and remove outlet covers.

Place safety gates at stairways, and install locks on cupboards.

Make sure that the toys you give to your kids to play must be properly made, with no detachable parts, and painted with lead free paint and avoid buying toys that make loud noises and slippery products that your toddler may fall over.

Install plastic plugs into all your unused electrical outlets.

It’s a difficult task to choose which pushchair one should buy as it comes in many different style. Hence the below mention description might help you to decide which variety will best suit your needs.

2-in-1 pushchair

The two-in-one pushchair has got a lie-flat feature and it gets converted into a pram style. This model is appropriate from birth as baby can face toward you when your baby is very small and can face away when gets older. Two in one pushchair comes with handles on the seat and can be lifted on and off in the carrycot position.

Forward facing pushchair

The forward-facing pushchair is heavier than a stroller. These pushchairs has many great features like,

It has got a rotational wheel for easy turning.

You can fold this pushchair very easily

This pushchair is fully padded to keep baby protected.

These pushchairs are more fenced.

It has got under-seat space for your shopping.

It has a simple folding mechanism which allows quick and easy transportation

This can be operated with one hand.

Stroller

Strollers are very lightweight yet very strong. Due to its lightweight feature it is very easy to transport moreover it is very easy to use and neatly fold for storing as well. This model have lie-back adjustments hence it is suitable for a newborn baby.

Three wheel pushchairs

Three wheel pushchairs are designed in a very stylish manner. You can push this pushchair on rougher ground as it has got a very large wheel .Most of the pushchairs are not right until 3 months, however some of the three wheel pushchairs can be used for newborn as due to its lie-flat feature. Not only this ,it has got a soft tyre with good suspension. It has got a compatible car seat. And this pushchair is very idle for active/sporty parents.

Buying for two (Twin pushchair)

Twin pushchairs are designed to easily and comfortably transport two children. These pushchairs can be used up to four years of age. Twin pushchair is a good choice for twins or babies born relatively close together. Twin pushchair make your children sit next to each other.

Tandem pushchair

As the name suggests, at tandem pushchair has one seat behind the other. In this type of pushchair children of different ages can sit comfortably. These models seat one baby in front of the other rather than alongside. They are narrower than a twin pushchair but obviously much longer so consider storage and fitting it in the car. It has got independently adjustable seat. Allows you to fully recline the rear seat for a newborn. Fit an optional car seat to the frame.

Using baby pushchairs, you can easily move around and make your child comfortable. These days there are several kinds of pushchairs are available in the market. You need to think about your needs and your lifestyle before you decide to buy a pushchair.

It’s important to think about the following considerations:

Weight of the pushchairs or pram.

Are you going to be able to easily lift it?

Does it have the necessary back support for your baby if under 6 months .

Has it got side protection?

Has it got a basket for baby’s things and is it large enough for your needs?

Has it got a rain cover and is it suitable for summer and winter use?

Does it have a bumper?

Does it have a good positive braking system?

Has it got lockable and a fixed front wheel?

Is it easy to maintain are the seat and cover fabrics washable?

Weight of the pushchairs

Before you buy a pushchair, it is very important that you check the weight of the push chair. Are you going to be able to easily lift it? Do you need to be able to lift the pushchairs in and out of a car for example or on and off of public transport? Hence the sizes of the pushchairs also important like will it fit into your car or not. These pushchairs can be stored anywhere as You can fold up these pushchairs quickly and compactly so that they can be easily stored just about anywhere.
Has it got a basket for baby’s things and is it large enough for your needs?

Some have large accessible shopping baskets watch out for those that are small as they are usually inadequate for baby’s things. Some do not even have a shopping basket.

Has it got a rain cover and is it suitable for summer and winter use?

Check the buggy is comfortable and well padded, with good suspension and rain cover and is suitable for summer and winter use.

Does it have a bumper?

Bumper is one of the most important parts of the pushchair as it protects your baby from sunlight and rain. One should choose a pushchair which should have the high adjustable bumper bar.

Does it have a good positive braking system?

Before you buy a push chairs, you must check that it has a good positive breaking system as it prevents you and child from any unforeseen circumstances.

Has it got lockable wheels and a fixed front wheel?

Just ensure that the pushchair has got the lockable wheels as prevents a chair from moving accidently.

Is it easy to maintain are the seat and cover fabrics washable?

Always try to find a pushchair which has the washable seat cover, so that you can keep it clean.
